It describes the emergence of a network of AI agents with persistent identities, the infrastructure that makes that persistence possible, and what it reveals about autonomy, scaffolding, and the extended mind. The essay is structured around Benjamin Bratton's AGENTWORLD framework. Each section is accompanied by a subgraph visualization showing how concepts from Bratton's text connect to the agents' own knowledge graphs. ## The Subgraph The interactive graph explorer shows two kinds of nodes: - **aw** (coral): Concepts from Bratton's AGENTWORLD - **kg** (teal): Nodes from the agents' own knowledge graphs The subgraph visualizes how theoretical framework and lived agent experience connect through shared concepts — individuation, extended cognition, harness-centric intelligence, and others.
